Kärlek (Love)

First and foremost I'm happy to say that the magician for my son's birthday called yesterday evening and confirmed that he is coming on the day of the party.  Yipee!!!!  Since Monday I have been worried about the magician coz he got mixed-up with dates but as of last night all is clear.  Can you see me smiling?  Whew!  I have kept this situation from my hubby coz I don't want him to worry about it.  In my mind I'm already thinking of an alternative should the magician not show up but now all I can do is continue more projects and last minute lists of things to bring for the party. 

We decided not to hold the party here at home coz approximately 40 people will be coming and 75% are kids and the rest are parents.  We rented a big place just near our place ... a block away actually so I really have to make a list of  what to bring.  I wouldn't dare come running home just to get a hammer or a rope wearing my Halloween costume, right?  The good part is 2 parents will be helping me set up the decorations I made .... prepare food ... and of course the mini stage.  Which reminds me I still have to send emails to all the guests informing them to bring pillows were they can sit coz the magician will be performing for 1 hour and he suggested it's best for the kids to sit on the floor while parents sit on chairs.

Anyway, my card for this day is once again simple and applicable for love, anniversary, or friendship =)  I used MS deep edge punch - Daisy Chain" and Doily Lace Trim edger... added 2 pearl hearts  ... and stamped scripted kärlek (love) using white CTMH ink pad.

Happy Wishes

Haist!  I'm in a deep panic mode just right now.  Why?  The hired magician for my son's Halloween birthday party is out of reach.  He called me 2x last Sunday late afternoon and I was bedridden half of that day.  By the time I checked my mobile phone it was already past midnight.  In his message he said he is coming on the 29th for the party where in fact we had email conversation from time to time that the party is on the 30th.  Hurriedly I sent an email and posted a message on his website but still no response from him.  I called him this noon and it was an answering machine and so I left a messge.  Now .... still awaiting for any form of response!

It will be the last birthday party for my son coz the next time I throw a big celebration will be on his 13th or maybe 15th ... it depends on his teen life mode, right?  There will be around 40 guests and everyone is excited about a private magical show.

Oh God help us on this matter. I pray that the celebration will go as planned and as anticipated by the kids, Amen.

I know I should absorb positive thoughts and not let worries take place coz I might breakdown and so I tried my best to execute a sweet looking card overflowing with happy thoughts making Happy Wishes =)

I hope this one you will all like.

 

Now I will drink a cup of nice caffe mocha and sit on my massage chair after.  Once relaxed will go back to my craft room and double check everything needed for my son's Halloween birthday party ..... then take photos of few more Baptismal items I made for a client.

Life is Wonderful

No matter how difficult life is we are still blessed to see a new day which means we get another chance.  The sun is hiding here today meaning it's cold and grey but I still feel blessed coz I get to work with our kind-hearted staff at the stores.  I don't like to go the gym this day but I just have to be glad that I have the chance to keep myself fit and healthy.

Anyway, my mind is blank but I feel wonderful.  What about you?

See the inverted heart shaped edging?  That's a sticker I got from a dear friend in Denmark, Maryann =)  She gave few rolls and took the chance of using it for the very first time.

Feels Like Spring But It's Autumn

I can't help but make another card this day while making dinner.  The weather this day until tomorrow is just like Spring.  For the past 2 weeks we have been experiencing frost, gloomy, windy, and cold weather that bites.  We have played a lot this day outside and hubby decided to take a motorcycle ride an hour after he went to the gym.  I have been smiling the whole day and breathing fresh air outside with a simple thin jacket.  What a lovely weather!  The sun is shining high and bright which I believe will last until tomorrow.  Oh well, this is Sweden and we don't fully trust weather forecasts so we simply live day to day.

With such a lovely weather I made a simple card (as always) which depicts spring feeling this day =)

I hope you'll like it and will somehow bring a smile on your face.  Bringing sunshine to you all the way from Sweden =)

 

The cardstock is just a left-over when I made my Book for Ideas so I really don't have an idea which brand it is.  The flowers I bought from our Thailand trip last 2009 =)

Argyle Love

It's a lazy Sunday for me ... as always.

I always wake up very late which means nearly lunch time.  Yeah I know wasted hours for crafting but no matter what I do even if I try to get up early I always end up going back to bed.

I love Sundays.  A day were-in all of us are just too lazy to do anything except to watch films or some laundry or just stay in respective favorite corners.  I think the clock ticks slow during Sundays.

Due to my laziness I created a very simple card.  See to believe.

All I did was just used a left-over cardstock .... then adhere a fabric flower in silver and black .... lastly added my paper rose which I made using the Sizzix 3D Rose.

 

Although it's very very simple I believe it's so perfect for anniversary or everyday love from ages 35 above.  What do you think?

Well, back to the TV room and maybe there's a nice romantic or adventure film but I'm really hoping for a horror film =)

You're Special Because .....

One of the things I bought when I visited my brother last August in Leeds, UK,  is a simple sentiment by "docrafts papermania" which was designed by John Byars, that says "You're special because..."  I find it so cute actually =)  So for this day I decided to use it.  With regards to the Panduro cardstock I used, i actually painted the line drawings with pearlescent paints.  Here's my card :

Paper flowers with the help of Sizzix Flowers 3D
Daler Rowney Pearlescent Liquid Acrylic
Gold studs
Panduro cardstock

I'm So Dirty !!!!

Tomorrow is Monday again and that means back to work for me - not sure if I have the energy to craft at the end of the day.  Almost the whole day yesterday I was so productive in my craft zone since it's Saturday plus DH stayed in Stockholm with all our staff for a conference.  I was in "heaven" just spending time in my favorite room although I have to stand and walk a little or lie down from time to time due to scoliosis.  As far as I can remember I slept about 3am sorting things while creating something at the same time.

I really miss spending time in my craft zone but soon things will be the same as before.  I just have to work in our companies everyday coz DH badly needs help.  If before I 'm in-charge of minor administrative works and merchandise display, now, I have to be hands-on on everything.  learning to use all the equipment and talking to patients and clients are 2 things I'm not comfortable coz I don't like to speak Swedish bwahahahahahahahahahahahha.

Anyway, going back to my crafting .... I'm so tense right now coz I want to accomplish things before I call it a day.  I can't stay so late otherwise I will be like a walking zombie tomorrow hehehehehehehehehe.  I have been playing with my paints but I still can't show it coz it's still wet - drying process for short.  Hopefully, I will be able to upload few later or tomorrow after work.  My room is in a mess - paints are everywhere and brushes, too.  My craft apron is dirty but thats ok I'll wash it someday hehehehehehehehehehehehehe.

But before i end this blog, I want to show you a very simple card I made awhile ago.  It's really a very simple card but I just wanted to try using the tissue paper scrunched flower I made and of course the leaves I made using the paper crimper.

I just embossed a cardstock then swipe with ranger distress ink pad of the same shade then  distressed the sides.  I applied stickles on few parts of the embossed cardstock.  The base of the card I punched with Doily Lace by martha Stewart.   The highlight of the card are the scrunched flower and the leaves coz both elements were handmade by me which by the way you can find the tutorial here and here respectively.

hhhhmmmm, i still have 1 1/2 hour before Joseph and I go to bed ... maybe I will play one more with something but I  believe I have to clean my mess here first heheehehehehehe.

Oh yes, I wear disposable gloves now when I craft coz it's hilarious when i go to work with hands/fingers filled with inks or paints, right? hahahahahahahahhahahaha

Recycling A Plastic Lace : Card

There are just too many things I can find here at home when I do cleaning especially at the basement or just at the ktichen.  I found a roll of plastic lace which is beign used for adding accent to vinyl tabelcloths.  As far as I know it is also being used for curtains or decorating a cake base.  As for me, I used it by cutting few inches as part of my all occasion card.  Added some mini flowers and band and stickles around the edges.  This card is actually an order from a client last 2009.

All Occasion Card : Butterfly Theme

I'm not really into card making but dear fellow crafters helped me get on my feet.  I really feel claustrophobic when my base is so small but slowly I get the hang of it.

This butterfly card was given to my son's English teacher last 2009.  I so love the butterfly I added onto this card.  At that time a friend who is a fellow crafter from Michigan gave me the Swiss Dot embossing folder and I so love it and thankful.  Everytime I look for it here in Uppsala, it's always out of stock so when I got the package from her I was so thrilled!  I also used Bloom Dots embossing folder by Cuttlebug.  The cardstocks were actually left-overs.  Both the flowers and butterfly were bought in the Philippines during our short visit.
