Hello Kitty Paper Baby Shoes

Who doesn't love Hello Kitty?  I guess every girl went through the stage of going ga-ga over Sanrio products particularly Hello Kitty items.  I, for one, was part of that rage =)  In fact I still have my HK items here in Sweden but not all.  Oh but I don't buy such items now ... just appreciating I should say since I don't have a baby girl but truly blessed with a son.

Anyway, when a friend of mine in Philippines saw my ladies paper shoes, she contacted me and asked if I can make baby shoes since her daughter will be turning 1 come August.  I couldn't say NO coz she a friend of mine for years.  So, in between grief and sorrow, I patiently created 50 pieces of baby shoes with the requested theme of Hello Kitty.  Geez!  I'm thankful I have the HK Cricut Cartridge and found an easy baby shoe template.  I had to find the right size of template so it took a while and tinkering the enlarge button in my printer.

I sent the package 2 days before we left for Italy last June and yesterday she informed that finally it arrived, whew!  I got worried for a day coz we were in vacation for 1 month and based on tracking it was out of Sweden 17th of June and has been in the Philippines since 24th of June.  I'm so glad that they love, love, love the baby shoes and can't wait to see pictures of the party.  Hhhmmm, I wonder what candies they will fill-in in every shoes =)

All the shoes before packing.

The white series.

The printed series.  All cardstock I sued are by Tilda.

 The Process:

1.  Trace, cut and assemble the pattern.  You may print out your desired size by of course twitching the enlarge button of your printer to print out a pattern.

2.  I opted to emboss the outer sole of each white baby shoe to add texture before assembling the shoe.

3.  Cut HK heads then assemble each one.

4.  Added stickles on every nose =)

5.  Punched flowers.

6.  Used pearl maker (black) for the center of each flower.

7.  Now once you have fully embellished each shoe to your liking, don't forget to add an inner sole for every shoe so it will look clean and flawless.

If The Shoe Fits! (Ladies Paper Shoes)

.... of course it's handmade with love! I made these 41 pieces of hybrid paper shoes last Christmas, 2011, for a vintage store and for our staff at Specsavers but unfortunately I got sick the day I had to deliver. Each shoe is unique since I don't make duplicates. I still have few pieces but don't know where I kept it hihihihihihi.

Each shoe pattern was cut manually then embossed using assorted embossing folders. I printed out digital pictures from The Graphics Fairy (under the Christmas Category) then highlighted with stickles before adhering to each shoe. I used lots of edge punchers ... some flowers were handmade by me, too, which you may find under Flower Making Category!
What to do with these shoes?  Use it for gift-giving purposes coz the shoe itself is a beautiful way to pack your small gifts.

Next time maybe I'll make some using fabrics or felts.

Thanks for viewing =)

3D Birds Christmas Ornaments

I love, love, love Christmas!  I just love the smell anywhere I go but most especially at home because aside from carfting I'm totally busy cooking =)  It's the month wherein I'm deprived of sleep due to creating lots and lots of items.  As for my son, trimming the tree is one thing he looks forward to every Christmas time.  He is always curious as to what I will be making year after year for our tree plus he is too excited what the whole house inside and out would look like.  I actually don't repeat decors .... maybe 1 or 2 items only but the rest everything is newly handmade.

Honestly, I don't have any idea yet as to what I will be making this Christmas for our tree .... for our home but I would like to show you what I made last year :  Christmas ornament #1.

After making these cute pearlescent and glimmering birds, it made my son smile and was too excited to trim our tree =)  I made 60 birds all in all while watching horror films at the living room!  Yeah, I like horror films anytime of the year =)

Musical Note Embossing Folder

Shoe Case with Heels

How's your week-end?  Mine is just fine ..... no stress since I will just go to the grocery tomorrow with hubby.  My parents-in-law are both sick so the usual Saturday we have with them is cancelled for the meantime until they're both healthy.  I, for one, feels that soon I will be sick but hoping of all hopes that I did not get the virus when I brought my DFIL in an ambulance last Monday due to influenza.  I was informed by the doctor that I have to observe myself within 14 days and if I'm lucky well and good, right?

The sun is shining really bright here and we are embracing every moment of the day for the past week.  If you read my entry yesterday then you have seen the budding flowers in our front garden.  I decided not to take a new picture yet coz I'm waiting to see it in full bloom.  Hhhhmmm maybe tomorrow...we'll see.

For my project this day which I was able to make early this morning (thanks to my son who woke me up at 7 this morning)  is a case for the necklace I made yesterday.  I finally decided to use my latest acquired cartridge Princess Party =)  When I saw this cart I fell in love with the 3D shoe.  I don't have a daughter but being a shoe lover I knew I have to have the cart!

I made a cut at 7 1/2 inches and assembled the shoe.  Since I was half awake and half asleep I had no idea how to embellish the shoe.  I didn't want to go overboard coz I want to maintain the elegance and simplicity of the shoe playing on my mind.  In my mind I want to incorporate stamping so I checked my Greeting Farm stamps and took Camille then I took the courage in using my PrismaColor pencils.  I have the big set for about 3 years now and embarrassing  to say it's actually my first time to use it.  I was apprehensive to use it but there's always a first time.  I believe I will use it more for now instead of my Copics - my coloring is kind'a rusty now, that's why.  Overall I'm happy the way it turned out but as I've said I will practice more coz it could have been better.

Now for the shoe itself, I embellished it with flower then attached a brad.  From there, I added crystals and wrapped around a lace.  The heel part is the coolest coz that's where I attached the stamped image (as shown above) and added few crystal beads.  Oh it didn't end there coz something is missing from the shoe itself...I felt that it was naked so thanks to Ellen Hutson who once shared a pattern for shoe lining in one of the shoes she created.

Once again I would like to stress that the shoe lining is not included in Princess Party Cricut Cartridge.  Here's the final look of my shoe case which I will be giving tonight to the birthday celebrant.  Oh my I'm singe tonight coz hubby and Joseph has to stay home.  Hubby has to take care of Joseph since there will be no kids at the party.

The tag was made by using Just Rite stamp : From My Kitchen Set then punched scallop using Stampin' Up then layered with another punched scallop.

That's it for the day!  I think I will take a long bath with candles around and drink again my blueberry juice.  Ooopsss!  I guess I'm dreaming - I still have lots of things to do here outside my main craft room.  Hhhhmmmm, maybe will take a date at the laundry area instead hahahahhahahahaha.

God Bless everyone!

Happy crafting and have a great week-end =)

My 3D Haunted House

Whew!  this haunted house was 1 week in the making.  It could have been less but I had to manage creating different things all at the same time just to beat deadlines.  I'm happy how it turned out and it was a big hit during my son's Halloween Birthday party last October 30.

Old box cover as base of my scene
Acrylic paints : Black and Green
Spider Web(s)

                              Fence with bird - 3"
                              Ghosts - 2"
                              Gate - 5"
Bats - cut at 4" and  at 1"
                              Gravestones - 2"
Trees cut at fit to page

Mini Monsters - Fence cut at 3"
                          Gravestones cut at 2"

Country Life, Straight from the Nest, and Zoobaloo - Grasses

My Review:

Lots of great things to say about HH cartridge but to sum it up I should say AWESOME!  I believe that every Cricut user should have one.  So many cute things to cut and the 3D Haunted House is one of the best.  Although it entails tons of patience at the end one will feel fulfilled.

I would like to thank my son for firmly deciding that he will have a Halloween Birthday this year ... and yes he did!  Otherwise, I don't think I will choose to cut and assemble the 3D Haunted House this year.  It was an awesome experience step-by-step, all the way through.  One thing has to be remembered:

The first cut if you look at the handbook, you have to cut it "fit to page" then look what size it's equivalent - and that should be 7".  From second cut till last do not use fit to page button but adjust to 7" instead.  Otherwise, your house will not be in perfect shape when assembled.  Be sure to cut all the cuts required and this part drove me crazy hahahahahahahahaha.

Lastly, PATIENCE and PERSEVERANCE mixed with joy and laughter - a must!!!!

until then......

A Different Kind of Christmas Greetings ( 3 x 3 inches canvases)

Maybe you have seen the handmade gifts I made for my secret partner.  Making those items I truly enjoyed and so I decided to make few more.  I bought a lot of small canvases for a sale price not knowing what to do about it but in my heart I know I will be able to alter those things.

Showing you some items I made for 2 days which I call "a different kind of Christmas greetings". I really wanted to make some greetings not in a card form this time, so I decided to use small canvases with stand instead. These items are For Sale and hopefully each one will find a nice home this yuletide season =) If not, it's fine coz I can definitely use them one way or another.

Majority of the materials used were dies and let me just warn each one of you that making these items is addicting hahahahahahaahahahha.  I applied self-adhesive fabric glittered tape around each canvas.
