Pearlized Clay Buttons with Texture

Project Made : March 10, 2011

Yup, this project has been completed months ago.  I did create several items in celebration of the National Craft Month (NCM) but I really had no time to sit and upload projects thus I was not able to join any BC.  Creating things even up to this day I do it on stolen moments.  Who says working moms life is easy?

As for my clay play, I received lots of clay moulders from a crafty friend in South America last Christmas 2010.  I really don't know which one to use first but just grabbed a few and started playing.  I love how it turned out but sad to say I have no time to color ALL the moulded clay .... maybe before the year ends will play some more but for now I would like to show you what I did with my air dry clay.

Thanks for watching!

until then......

Clay Ornaments (Samples)

I know for a fact that ALL of us are extremely busy nowadays simply because of Christmas.

I know also that ALL of us are dealing with personal worries and problems in our lives.

I know very well that we ALL have pending projects that only time can tell when each projects be done.

In my case, my list is endless and whenever I sit in my craft room just staring at my list already tires me hahahahahhaahahahahahahha. Sometimes I wonder if I will ever be able to accomplish all on my list hahahahahaha. It's not the same anymore as last year when time is mine and mine alone when the house is empty. This year I have to divide my time but the heck with time management - it doesn't work for me hahahahahaha.

This clay ornament project is not on my list but since I got overwhelmed with my pending list, I rebelled! hahahahahahhahahahahahaha

Playing with clay is not my first time ... if you remember what i did for my DMIL's birthday give-a-ways http://scrapbookingwithjerosha.blogspot.com/2009/03/stamping-on-clay.html

This time I grabbed few of my big rubber stamps plus some cookie cutters and metallic paints. I used a paper clay so it will be lightweight coz I'm not sure if I will use it on my cards or make some more and hang in our Christmas tree. Using a paper clay that is really light as a paper, I find it unmanageable when using a clay machine. So, I ended up using a clay roller which is ssssssssooooooo much better.

I love the embossed designs but my favorite shape is the mother and father shape coz it symbolizes my mom and dad who have been resting int he arms of our Lord for more than a decade now. Joseph's favorite are the Christmas tree and the reindeer coz it sparkles after adding glitters. DH's fave are the round ones coz he likes the intricacy of the impressions.

Now, which is your fave?
Here's to show you an idea how I made these ornaments .....

The lightweight paper clay ... cookie cutters ... and basic tools.  Flatten the clay then make an impression using your preferred rubber stamps then cut using cookie cutters.

POKEMON 7th Birthday Invitations

Joseph is very very happy with his invitations and proud to say we both worked hard on this project. We sure had a grand time together and I made him decide on what embossing folder ... colors of ink pads ... where to put the digital image. He got sad along the way coz he can't help me in every step of the way - torn between cartoons and cardmaking hahahahahahhaha.

In the invitation, it says there that if you cannot attend call NLt 17th. Everytime a parent calls my heart pounded coz I want all his classmates (boys) to attend. It made me and Joseph (especially) when it's just a call to say how awesome the card is and they will not miss the private party.

Materials / Tools:

Different B & W pictures of Pokemon printed on Laser printer and used one image as digital stamp. The other Pokemon pix will be used for coloring books which will be one of his thank you gifts to all the guests (kids).
Tim Holtz Embossing Folder - Rays
Ranger Distress Ink Pads
Hot Off the Press Acrylic Stamp for the "You're Invited"
Cardstocks from CCHobby
Handmade Papers as the base card
Clay machine
Cricut Cartridge - Create A Critter
Copic Markers and ProMarkers
Heide Swapp Edge Distresser
Zig Marker (black) for doodling
Daler Rowny FW Pearlescent Liquid Acrylic - to color the Pokemon clay accent as well as to give highlights on the digital image.
Paper Clay (white)

Procedure:

Joseph embossed the green cardstock with TH embossing folder - rays. I distressed all the edges both the green and blue cardstocks.  Highlighted the edges with Ranger distress ink pad - peeled paint for the green cardstock and broken china for the blue cardstock.

Swish some Mustard Seed and Spiced Marmalade ranger Distress ink pads to give a sunny rays effect.

After printing out the Pokemo digital image, I colored the image(s) with Copic makrkers and Promarkers.

I borrowed Joseph's Pokemon chip and played with paper clay.

Joseph colored each clay chips with pearlescent acrylic paint.

Although the mass produced Pokemon chips are reverse, Joseph was very very happy.

Used Create A Critter cartridge to die-cut the words "Let's Play".

Printed out the given Nikki's invitation card. Nikki's Adventureland is where Joseph will have his private party =)

Stamping On Clay

hahahahahahahahahahahahaha playing with clay was really fun :D Making these things took me 2 days to finish due to drying time. So now, for the 18th day of National Craft Month, this is my creation :D My very first venture in clay :D After doing these things, I have something in my mind that I will be making which will be part of my traditional layout hahahahaha:)

I would like to thank Catherine of Beadazzled and Just Claying Around Sites. They inspired me to try clay and they were so kind enough to answer few questions that I have. I will definitely meet them when I visit Philippines someday :D Although my clay creations can not match how brilliant their works are, it just made me feel that I can actually play with clay and create something :D I don't think I will be able to create clay figures coz it's just not my liking for now ... all because I have no patience hahahahahahahahahahaha.

In making these clays, I only used basic materials that I have ... found in the kitchen and in my craft room. Maybe someday I will buy the real tools for clay making but for now, I can live with what I have. I decided to use Air Dry clay coz it's my first time and besides, I don't want to mold then bake then wait till it gets cold .... all because of excitement hahahahahaha. I took the short cut for now :D

Hope you guys will have the time to view what I did and leave some love and kindness coz I'm kind'a proud of what I made hihihihihihihihihihihihi.

I made 20 key holders and 8 magnets :D

I made these things as give-a-ways for my mother-in-laws 80th birthday come April. I'm so determined to try playing with clay and I was quite nervous at the start but things went well anyway.

Materials Used:

"Tack" Rubber Stamp (Tack means Thanks)
Air Dry Clay
Kiddie Rolling Pin (borrowed from my son)
Bamboo Skewers to have a margin for the thickness of the clay
Mini Wine glass - to make a round shape
eyelet puncher to make holes
masking tape so that the skewers will not move
sand paper - have to smoothen the items
key rings
magnet tape
Satin ribbons (lime green, pink, and lavander
Metallic paints (gold, lavander, mint green, and baby pink)
Scotch Dual Applicator Glue
Brown glitter powder I got from Joan when I won the card swap last year (2008)
Dimensional Magic to protect the glitter
