Making Charms for A Special Project

Ah, finally I have time this day to document what I have done this day =)  It sure is a nice feeling to be in your craft zone and let time fly knowing that at the end of the day you were able to accomplish something.

This afternoon while my son and his 2 bestfriends were busy playing outside, watching  a movie, eating snacks, and simply checking funny stuffs at you tube, I went on to my plan of making charms for my art journal entry at Journal 52.

A sneak peek were I used the charms:

Here are all the charms =)

 Here's how I did the set =)

Yes, every cardstock adhered on every pendant was hand-cut coz I don't have the exact size and shape of punchers  =(

I used Barrel Swivel with Interlock Snap to hang each charm on my project.  I find it so cool and unique =)

I'm happy and fulfilled as I end this day.  Hhhmm, I'd better do some organization later while the night is still young.

Have a great week-end everyone and God bless!

Handmade Paper Beads - Jewelries

After a month of fun, sun, and sailing in Italy, I took a lot of effort to clean my main craft room.  I noticed that I just shoved a lot of crap under the drawers and tables.  One of my findings were some digital papers I printed which sad to say I don't remember the designer .. sorry :(  Trying my best to recall why on earth did I printed few digital papers and after few hours I realized that it was meant for a hybrid project specially for TDS Lifestyle which long ago for few years I was one of the hybrid designers.  Now, what to do with the printed digital papers?

Luckily sun has been shining bright and high here and it's best to stay outside specifically at the garden drinking wine and crafting of course!  Well, I decided to create paper beads and give a go in creating 2 sets of jewelry.  Not bad I should say for doing it the first time =)

Hhhmmmm one of these days I will dip each bead in my UTEE but for now I let it be ...

This is the green set - butterfly theme=)

The blue set - forever friends theme =)

PS.  Any paper will do if you plan to make this kind of project.  You may even use pages from magazines which I believe my son and I will be rolling lots of papers tonight.

Happy crafting!

Washer Necklace(s)

Tingga is what we call it in the Philippines =)

Washer necklace has been popular once in the world of crafting and since I have few at home ... actually down the basement at my hubby's workshop, I took it and played with each last year, 15 July 2011.  I had fun (as always) making this project in one sitting.  I took advantage while my son is busy creating something with his Lego bits and pieces.

Materials Used:

Large and Small Washers
Beads
Leather Strips
Stickles
Cardstock - leftovers
Dimensional Magic
Alcohol Inks

 Thanks for viewing =)

Adjustable/Sliding Knot Lock Necklace

And autumn is finally here - no doubt about it :(

I'm not exactly in the mood of making any complicated jewelry since it's not my forte.  It may take tons of persuasion before I spend time really creating high-end jewelries but of course if the need arises then I have to.  Hhhhmmm having said that I made a very simple necklace (as always) and how I love the technique of the sliding lock knot and I do find the tassle so cute =)

Here are all the materials I used =)

Wrap-around Wool Necklace

What a fine sunny day it was =)  When hubby told me that we're going to visit my step-son at his apartment I was delighted and excited.  He recently moved out from our home and I cried bucket of tears!  We bought the apartment last week of December and made an agreement that he will do his moving out thing slowly so that I will be prepared emotionally and mentally.  But still when the day has come for him to leave I cried and devastated.  All these years I told him he can live with us until the day he will get married hahahahahhahahahahahha.  No one can blame me for feeling sad coz I took care of him in every way since he was 14 years old and now that a decade has passed by we just have to set him free.  If I cried bucket of tears when he moved out how much more if my only son has to do that someday?

His apartment really suits him:  located near the city .... grocery store is just 2 blocks away ... fast foods are just around the corner yet the building itself is quiet and safe....plus he has his own parking space  I believe the most important part is that it's near the head-office where he works.

As for the project I made this day I truly say that it's a quick one.  If you have 10 minutes to spare you will be able to assemble the necklace even while watching TV which I did =)

The materials I used for this project.

The knotted effect is way too easy to do.

My son is sick again and I don't know if taking him out for a ride and visit his step-brother was a bad idea.  I hope it's not a relapse :(

Goodnight everyone and catch you guys tomorrow with another project.

until then.....

A 10 minutes Double Loop Wool Balls Necklace

Look what I found in our front yard!!!!  My heart is filled hope that truly Spring is here =)  Although I know snow may pour once in a while but I also know it will not last for it will just melt immediately.

Now let's talk about my project this day =)

It's party time for me tomorrow and I will be attending one of our staff's 30th birthday =)  I have to go without hubby nor my son so it sounds like I'm single tomorrow hahahahahahahahha.  The celebrant as I have observed likes fancy jewelries ... well who doesn't, right?  I took a lot of courage to create one for her.  Amazingly it only took 10 minutes for me to assemble everything.  I kind'a like the effect of uneven lengths/spacing of wool balls and beads but I really had a hard time making a loop for bigger wooden beads.  Oh well, i really hope she will like it ... crossing my fingers!

These are all the materials I used =)

And this is how it looks like when looped twice.  It's really best to wear it with double loop otherwise the whole necklace will hang up to her hips =O

Hhhhmmmm now I have to think of something on how to pack this gift.  I'd better browse my cricut cartridges......

Until then......

Happy crafting everyone and God Bless!

Upcycling Lost Pair Earrings

Mammography went fine this morning and thanks to my son who followed me at the hospital.  We both lost our way ... took the wrong entrance so we had to run as fast as we could coz time is ticking.  Whew!  We were late for 6 minutes but they were kind enough to accommodate me.  Afterwards, we went to Panduro Craft store and look for my son's art materials he needed at home and I of course couldn't hesitate to buy one book that tackles everything about arts and crafts.  I was tempted to buy sets of cardstocks but changed my mind ... will buy those next week instead =)

At 12 noon we had lunch together with hubby at my favorite Chinese buffet restaurant.  The food they offer really reminds me of Chinatown in the Philippines =)  At about 1pm, we headed to the movie house but without hubby and watched The Smurfs.  Aw, I want those smurfs here at home!

Anyway, this morning while looking for a pair of earrings that matches my attire for the day, I found a box filled with old earrings and most of them doesn't have pair anymore :(  I promised a long time ago to myself that I will try to fix some or upcycle few and I just did =)

From old earrings ... without a pair to jumbo unique rings!!!

Jumbo rings have been a trend since late last year here and I bought few in Spain but buying here sometimes can be expensive.  I'm so happy I have more unique jumbo rings to wear without spending a dime =)

Failed UTEE Pendant Project :(

For short my first try with UTEE is a failure coz I find it super ugly :(

Last night when I put Joseph to sleep in his room  I fell asleep, too, and woke up about 1.45a.m.  I was torn between uploading my creations that made me dirty the other day as I have mentioned in my blog entitled "I'm So Dirty".

Oh well, I opted to play with my UTEE for the very first time with Joan as my inspiration.  I so love her UTEE projects eversince.  I watched her video tutorial but I still failed :( sniff, sniff)

Armed with different silicone moulds for ice making, I played with the simple shape first like the round mould then for the heart shape I used a cookie cutter.  I know for a fact that nothing goes to waste with UTEE coz it can be re-melted again and again until you're satisfied.

I will definitely keep on trying until I get to learn the secrets behind making beautiful UTEE projects.

Where I failed on this project?

Look closely and you will see that some edges especially the inner part are not fine and even the pierced part :(  I wonder if I have to use a sand paper to smoothen these parts?)

Once again I will try and try.
hhhmmm, will try again later after work =)

Ok gtg coz my work starts 11 am today =)
