I Got My Own Column at TDS Lifetyle =)

Hello everyone!

After so many months of waiting I was finally informed yesterday that my very first article for my own column entitled "Kitchen Crafts" has been published.  I was invited by Alice Kho, the owner, to start my ow column for TDS Lifetsyle.  We talked about it through many email exchanges and finally it's now a reality.

What to expect from my column "kitchen Crafts"?  Oh definitely some recipes and creations using items found in my kitchen.  I say my kitchen because I don't know what's on your kitchen hahahahahahahahahahahhahaahha.  You will get to learn some alternatives, too.  I honestly say it's a column that is anything goes!

The 1st article you'll get to read was meant to be published last summer but TDS had a huge technical problem that if you will notice for several months I did not mention anything about TDS.  We are still fixing things but for the month of October ... and November TDS was able to deliver.

2010 TDS Lifetyle Issue #5 : Urban Chic

Woo Hoo the latest issue of TDS is out and TDS Blimp goes to Moscow!

Our theme for this month is Urban Chic and that really drove me crazy coz my mind was out of order hahahahahahhaha plus I have no exact idea on teen-agers nowadays except for gadgets and the like.  To play safe, I created something for teen-agers : Girls and it turned out great.  I was able to adapt the urban chic in my project and thanks to the digitla kit I used.  This is the kit I used

Issue #4 - 2010 : TDS Lifestyle (Easter)

Yup!  TDS Lifestyle Issue #4 is out since 5th of this month but was not able to post it due to unavoidable circumstances.

I'm so thrilled about this issue because BLIMP goes to San Francisco!  Cool, isn't it?  I will never get tired of visiting SFO and the truth is I did left my heart in San Francisco hahahahahahaha.  Why?  The city for me is magical and I was in awe when I saw The Golden Bridge.  It's actually the kind of city I can live at.  Joseph and I were so lucky to arrive on a fine sunny day and the effect of the bridge with it's background was like a postcard.  Joseph enjoyed watching the seals and The Alcatraz plus riding that train which at the end I had to buy a miniature hehehehehe.  We did so many things and went to so many places at SFO.  I really wish that someday I can go back and see SFO again =)  We personally enjoyed staying at SFO than LA but in both cities we super-duper love the moments we had with my first cousins and Uncles and of course meeting for the first time my handsome nephews =)

Issue # 2, 2010 - TDS Lifetsyle : Wine Bottle Topper

Late post again :( For the 2nd issue of TDS LIfetyle, 2010, I shared my own Bailey's Recipe. It was a big hit last Christmas and earned money by selling. I know a lot of people love the taste of Bailey's and I know how costly it can be. After few trial and error I was able to obtain the texture, taste, and smoothness of Bailye's. Aside from sharing my recipe, I created 2 designs for wine bottle topper. It's perfect when planning to give wine or your homemade drink like my Bailey's.

The Daily Scrapper (TDS) : Issue # 1

The very first time I got an exposure ... meaning published as guest designer was at The Daily Scrapper (TDS). The owner featured my altered clock creations summer of 2008 which by the way you can find here.
The newspaper type crafting pages were awesome. Then come June of 2009, the owner, Alice Koh invited me to be part of the Hybrid Team which made me so happy after blushing for so many days. In my mind I was wondering if I can do it ... or if I'm ready for such adventure in crafting world. Yup! I accepted the offer and start of July 2009, I was creating 2x a month for TDS.

The Daily Scrapper is now called TDS Lifestyle. I would say the new look vis-a-vis new concept is tremendoulsy awesome. Actually I can't find the right words to describe it so I suggest you all take a look and browse the e-magazine. Starting this year TDS will come once every month as compared to last year 2x a month.

For the first salvo of 2010, I did not create any hybrid project for TDS Lifestyle but was tasked to write an article on "Lucky Foods". The owner knows that I do catering from time to time and how I love to experiment on food (Lol). Here's the article I wrote :

Issue #23 The Daily Scrapper : 3D Elves Village

Geez! I had no idea that I was not able to post my project for The Daily Scrapper last December 2009 :( I was literally busy in my craft room creating holiday orders plus my party catering business.

Anyway, for the last issue of TDS year 2009, I created a 3D Elves Village. Way back in college when all my friends were mostly taking architecture and interior design, I am always amazed on how they build miniature 3D buildings. Being the only fine arts (advertising) among the group, I would watch them create up to wee hours in the morning just to beat the deadline of submission. I promised myself that someday when the right time comes I will try to create my own and of course this Christmas is indeed the perfect time for me. With Suzy Iverson (aka SuzyQ Scraps) Jolly Holiday Digital Kit, it completed the idea and design brewing in my mind.

My 6 year old son helped me assemble the village and how he enjoyed bulidng lego mini cars for the elves and adding trees around the village.

TDS Issue #21 : Defining Me

Woot! Woot! I'm so proud of myself for creating this Mix Media Hybrid Collage about me as a crafter. I enjoyed every minute of it and will definitely continue to create more mix media art in the future.

To be honest, the concept of "defining me" gave worries and apprehensions. I just couldn't decide which part of me should I define. I made some list and it was endless :( At last, I just concentrated on me being a crafter and I'm so glad I did this.

TDS Issue 19 : Recycling

Geez! Here I am again forgetting to post the previous issue of The Daily Scrapper. It's one of my favorite issue so far coz it's all about recycling. Come to think of it, there are so many things that we can recycle inside our home and it's just a matter of looking and simply being creative.

For this issue I made my own acid-free papers from m cardstocks. My son and I had so much fun doing this project for almost one whole day and I would say my son really enjoyed every minute of it.

Issue #17 The Daily Scrapper : Autumn Fever

Autumn is definitely in the air here in Sweden :( It is the time of the year when we have to prepare clothes for such cold breeze outside. I have finally put out all autumn and sort of winter clothes and bye-bye to summer clothes now hidden in the basement. Boots and scarves are neatly arranged with matching bags (of course) hehehehehe.

One of the things that I do in preparation for autumn season is to make our home warm - blending with shades of brown, golden yellow, and deep red. For The Daily Scrapper Issue 17, I created a table top wreath as part of my decorations this year.

Issue #16 The Daily Scrapper : Family Keepsake

Hi everyone! How sad that I haven't created anything yet since we got back from Greece :( I have other priorities for now so I seldom stay in my craft room. I have so many ideas and my hands are itchy to create something but I have to back off at the meantime.

Well the good news is that The Daily Scrapper Issue #16 is out!!! Try to spare few minutes and check the latest issue. I altered a canvass frame and turned it into a family keepsake bag/box. The objective of my bag/box is to be filled with pictures of my childhood. Inside the bag/box I attached a 2 ring binder so photos are well organized.

Forgive me for posting this info so late - I'm just juggling my time being a mom, wife, and a friend. Need to play soon in my craft room!

The Daily Scrapper Issue #14 : Back To SChool and a Free Kit

TDS Issue #13 : Fairytale/Fantasy Theme

Oh yeah! The Daily Scrapper Issue #13 is out and making a buzz!

For this issue we have a fantasy/fairytale theme. As part of the hybrid theme, I created a 19 pages Fairytale Book entitled "Life Itself is The Most Wonderful Fairytale of All".

I was also tasked to write an article :D

Writing the article and creating the fairytale book is in a way a revelation of who I am and what I believe in life. A reader can easily see a glimpse of my life all in the name of Love.

Oh yeah, I still believe in fairytales ... magic .... dragons .... unicorns ... fairies ... santa ... trolls .. goblins ... witches .... middle earth .... and of course Princesses and Princes.

Hope you guys have time to read the whole issue of TDS and I bet everyone will gain something out of it.

I'm Officially A Digital Hybrid Designer for The Daily Scrapper

Some of you may remember that I was once featured at The Daily Scrapper and it's all because of my Altered Clocks I made August 2008. It was my first time to be featured on an all-english site hihihihihihihihi.

April 14 of this year, I got an invitation to be part of the Hybrid Team. I read the invitation over and over again and tried to pinch myself if I'm not dreaming. I had to take a walk and have a quiet moment - thinking If I'm worth to be part of such a GREAT and highly acclaimed online magazine.

Oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah! I accepted the invitation and informed the kind owner, Ms. Alice Koh, that I will be able to participate as soon as I get back from our Philippines trip. You just don't have any idea how itchy I was to inform all of you that I'm one of the Digital Hybrid Designer for The Daily Scrapper. I had to hold it as a secret all this time until this day coz I'd rather inform you all when I have finally participated and created something for TDS.
