Laser Game Party Invites and Giveaways

A very unusual thing happened to me.  My son didn't have a party during his birthday last October simply because the Laser Game is fully booked and the next available date is 1st week of December but then we will be out of the country by that time to celebrate hubby's birthday for a week.  And so we booked it for 2nd week instead, which was last Sunday.

When we arrived from Gran Canaria, I was totally exhausted then come Monday, the 10th, I suddenly remembered that I haven't done the party invitations yet!!!!  How can I forget that, right?  I have barely a week!!!!

The whole morning of Tuesday, the next day, I created something fast (20 pieces) plus stamped images on every envie then the same day before getting my son from school I mailed all the invitations.  The next day I created the packaging of give-a-ways, too, and bought all the goodies for the give-a-ways!  Yeah, I made spaghetti for the kids ... ordered a cake since I can no longer make my own .... and the special request of my son :  homemade ice cream =)  Whew!

The party was a success!

It's All in the Position

Have you ever took pictures of your kid(s) while sleeping?  In the Philippines, I know few people who forbid to take pictures of their kids while sleeping because it will bring danger even death to the kids.  Well, I'm not part of that population who believes in such since my parents never mentioned anything about such belief. 

Proof :  I have few pictures of my son when he was a toddler .... yes, while sleeping and I find the shots so cute so I did some digital layouts:

Entry #7 - NCM 2010 : Pretty Me (Digi Scrap)

I have been very down the whole day yesterday :(

My parents never forced me to clean all my life - en toto dependent on househelpers. But when it comes to my own room I remember I'm the only one who WILL clean it coz I get mad when they touch anything in my room.

I became aware of cleaning when I was 22yrs old. I started to fix our home .... buy stuffs to decorate together with my mom .... sew curtains with my mom. My parents had to warn me due to my scoliosis and they were right I get lots of attacks everytime I clean. Good thing I'm not asthmatic =)

I was taught how to iron and wash clothes at the age of 25yrs old much to my mom's objection. A first cousin from father's side who is so close to me devoted her time just to show and teach me. My mom cried bucket and buckets of tears while watching me do such chores. I had fun though!

When my parents died I was left with my brother who really took care of me - actually spoiled me more =)

NOW, here in Sweden I have to do everything coz hubby is dead tired form work managing 2 of our companies everyday. I only iron his clothes and I have to do it in batches coz I'm lazy hahahahahhahahaha. I wash clothes (thanks to washing machine) if I see it's piling. I clean the house thoroughly quarterly and mind you it takes a month to accomplish my mission. Hubby never complains but I know it would make him feel wonderful when he comes home to a very clean home. Ha! With a 6yr old boy around who is so creative and playful one can just be frustrated in cleaning =)

I feel I'm a bad wife :(
I feel that I'm so dumb when it comes to cleaning and organizing :(
I feel so down coz it's like no matter how much I clean it never ends :(

I feel so down coz I don't see my face anymore : I think I'm ugly and fat nowadays that I refused to look at the mirror worried to see a monster :( Cleaning and organizing makes me so dirty!!!!

I have been sitting in my craft room tinkering my laptop and took a lot of effort to create a digi scrap of me. I'd rather think that I'm still pretty and sexy in the eyes of my hubby so reversing how I originally feel about myself just to avoid or deplete the negative aura I have since this morning, I created a digital Layout shouting that I'm pretty.

Mickey Mouse Birthday Photo Invitation(s)

Project : First birthday invitation for my nephew Ryan

DSIL and DB prefers photo type of invitation to be sent to all guests. This I took with all my heart coz it's very easy to make than the traditional way. They told me they bought a new color printer so there will be no problem for them to print all the invitations they needed.

I personally like the bluish-greenish Mickey invitation than the red one. I just created 2 designs for them to choose. Got very very happy when they chose what I like most. With The Mouse in The House digital kit by Brittney of Britt-ish Designs plus my scrapbook software, I was able to design the invitation.

Mickey Mouse CD Labels

Project: One of the give-a-ways aside from coloring books, crayons, candies, et al, is a Mickey Mouse Classic Soundtrack to all the kids at the party.

I personally suggested and agreed upon by my DSIL and DB to give CD of Mickey Mouse Club Classic Soundtrack. Creating the CD labels were kind'a easy coz I used Mouse In The House Digital Kit by Brittney of Britt-ish Designs. It's a simple CD cover .... no fuzz!

The CD itself is now up to my DB and DSIL hehehehehehehehehe =D

Issue #15 The Daily Scrapper : Monochromatic Theme

The Daily Scrapper Issue #15 is out!

For this issue I did not create any hybrid project in a monochromatic theme but was able to contribute a digital scrapbook layout using Érica Mathia's Exclusive Kit for TDS "Know Me". She is from Brazil and started designing her kits at the end of 2007. Her "Know Me" kit is really cute! - filled with happiness and colors that anyone will fall in love with. I made the layout while I was in Greece enjoying our family vacation.

Digital LO and Joseph's Crafts

Hello once again! It's the 19th day of National Craft Month and it's Thursday :D

Thursday for me is the busiest day in the week aside from Mondays hehehehehhe. Short driving lessons in the morning then lunch out thne bring Joseph to His english class then go shopping/window shopping then get Joseph in his school then come home and prepare dinner then time for myself while Joseph is watching TV and playing with his toys at the same time.
So, Thursdays is spent only an hour or two creating something in my craft room.

Before anything else, I would like to show what my son did for me yesterday. He was so busy with his craft materials and I was forbidden to look hehehehehehhehehehehehehehe.

The first thing he did is this : A flower with a vase :D He drew a flower with a stem and leaves then cut it out and took one of my left-over scrap boards so the flower can stand. He also took an empty tissue roll that serves as the vase :D
The second thing he did is he played with my clay and created a dinosaur :D The dinosaur is awesome! And he did it without any guide at all :D He painted the dinosaur early this morning and I really love it very much!!!! I really don't know what kind of dinosaur it is. One thing for sure, the spikes at the back and tail are ssssssssssssooooooooooooo great! This is his second time to create a dinosuar clay but the other one is at his english school.

Now for my creation this day, I just re-designed a previous Digital LO. The original LO was created last year when I attempted to create my own multiply theme. I know some of you have read my blog entry about it and seen my theme creation and once again THANK YOU for all the wonderful comments. I removed that theme from another site coz I wanted to fix it a little.

The previous LO for me has a scattered effect. It gives me headache when I look at it.

When you look at the above digital LO, I have 2 focal points : first is our family picture then the other one are the fairies. I didn't like that effect so I change it into :
Now, this is much better coz I have one focal point : the family picture surrounded by pixies and faires plus added few elements like our surname Äretun and the scroll now has the words FAITH, HOPE, LOVE, and PEACE :D

Mamma Me

Hi everyone! Yup! It's the 13th day of National Craft Month and it's Friday the 13th, too.

I'm very very busy today so I just created a simple digital layout during my lunch break.

I'm in the mood of cleaning the kitchen and at the same time do the laundry. Not much time to stay in my craft room but will try to create something soon :D Even if I have time I don't think I will be creating something today coz I just got a letter blog from my dear sweetie, Maryann Laursen, and she tells about her health condition:( Up to now, I'm very very sad and even if I want to be with her right now and take care of her, I can't coz she is in Denmark. All I can do is offer a prayer for her and hopefully a mass this Sunday. Although some of you don't know her, please say a prayer for my sweetie, please? She is in so much pain and doctors can't do anything for now coz penicillin doen's work for her anymore then there are other health issues like the bones .... hands .... and back that they have to cure so in effect some medicines she can't take for now or few months. She is ok this day but there are early mornings that she wakes up due to pain and so there are ... days that she can't be online at Multiply :( The doctors still can't figure out what's wrong :(

Motherhood and Ultra Sound Digital Layouts

7th day of National Craft Month :D

For this day, I created 2 digital layouts that I plan to use / add in my pregnancy album. I have long been planning to finish my pregnancy album but all these time ... years it's just under my pending tray :(

I hope I will be able to finish the album within this craft month.

The Ultra Sound Pix of my unborn baby was taken May 19 of 2003 and my unborn child at that time is 4 months. When I saw my baby on the screen, tears rolled down my cheeks. I just couldn't believe that he's inside my womb ... alive .... and really sweet and cute. This shot is the best shot among the 5 pix taken. The first few shots taken, he was hidning ... shy to look at us hehehehehehehe. Then, I tried to hold my tummy and told him, to please just look even for a few seconds and mamma and pappa will surely be the happiest parents of the day. True enough, he heard me and looked at us and there the moment was captured.



The picture of me was taken exactly 2 months I gave birth. Eeeeeeeeeeeewwwwwwww, I'm so bloated hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. I was really heavy during my pregnancy .. when I got married I was only 52 lbs then on my last month of pregnancy I was 82 lbs!!!!! It took me 3 1/2 years to lose the excess weight simply because I breastfed my son for exactly 3 years and diet is a big NO-NO. Now, I'm proud to say I'm 58lbs and still trying my best to be 52 or 54 lbs :D Ist it wishful thinking? hahahahahahahahaha

Tied Up with Love

Oh it's been a year since I created a Digital Scrapbook layout and it feels so good to try it once again. For so many reasons, I think almost the whole year of 2008, I was not able to make any digital layouts. I got so busy with altering things .... family .... work .... of course my little boy and husband, too.

Since it's the 2nd day of the National Craft Month, I decided to make a digital LO. Actually, I have so little time to make any traditional crafts this day coz after a lunch date with my husband, we both had a haircut then off to my driving lessons :D Will try to create something different tomorrow but it all depends on the time I have .... we'll see :D


So, for my 2nd entry (29 more) here it is entitled Tied Up With Love :D

I got married late in life and when I say late I mean I got married at age 35 then gave birth at age 36.  It took years of prayers for me to find the right man.  I have been in few clean relationships and none of them was the right prince charming.  Yes, I almost gave up when it comes to being married someday.  Both my parents died without any idea whom I'm gonna get married with.

I grew up in a God-fearing and God-believer, close-knit family.  Prayer is part of our lives that in everything we do we pray in our own way.  To be honest, I prayed without ceasing for 10 years that God will hear me with regards to finding the right man.  In my heart I believed that somewhere out there is a man planned by God for me to spend the rest of my life.  All I have to do is open my heart and mind for me to see and hear.

Alas!  I found him .... or should I say he found me!  To know more about our love story visit our family site at www.aretun.tk =)  Many have read our story and were inspired totally!

Anyway, I truly love my husband and everyday I Thank God for a wonderful gift He has given me.  It's just one of the thousands and thousands of gifts God has given me =)

Digital VS Traditional

Honestly speaking, I do all sorts of scrapbooking from traditional to digital to altered art to scrapbooking on the wall. I really love doing and exploring all sorts of creativity. When I started scrapbooking I was into digital but then I went into traditional way. Both ways, I am very very happy but oftentimes I prefer to undergo the actual cutting, pasting, searching for embellishments just so to create aeither a single or double spread or series layout.

Anyway, listed below are some things for you to consider before starting this magical hobby.

What are the benefits of digital scrapbooking versus traditional scrapbooking?

Digital scrapbooking saves money: Unlike most traditional scrapbooking supplies that are "consumable," digital scrapbooking supplies can be purchased once and used forever.

Digital scrapbooking saves time: Instead of creating a separate page for each person at a given event, you can use the same template and drop in different photos or use the same layout but print out multiple copies (one for each person at a given event).

Digital scrapbooking saves memories: While traditional layouts and photos can fade or yellow over time, computer generated layouts are archived in a digital format where they are safe from the effects of heat, oxidation, time, and other external factors. Digital layouts never lose their vibrancy, detail, or color.
