Hello Kitty Paper Baby Shoes

Who doesn't love Hello Kitty?  I guess every girl went through the stage of going ga-ga over Sanrio products particularly Hello Kitty items.  I, for one, was part of that rage =)  In fact I still have my HK items here in Sweden but not all.  Oh but I don't buy such items now ... just appreciating I should say since I don't have a baby girl but truly blessed with a son.

Anyway, when a friend of mine in Philippines saw my ladies paper shoes, she contacted me and asked if I can make baby shoes since her daughter will be turning 1 come August.  I couldn't say NO coz she a friend of mine for years.  So, in between grief and sorrow, I patiently created 50 pieces of baby shoes with the requested theme of Hello Kitty.  Geez!  I'm thankful I have the HK Cricut Cartridge and found an easy baby shoe template.  I had to find the right size of template so it took a while and tinkering the enlarge button in my printer.

I sent the package 2 days before we left for Italy last June and yesterday she informed that finally it arrived, whew!  I got worried for a day coz we were in vacation for 1 month and based on tracking it was out of Sweden 17th of June and has been in the Philippines since 24th of June.  I'm so glad that they love, love, love the baby shoes and can't wait to see pictures of the party.  Hhhmmm, I wonder what candies they will fill-in in every shoes =)

All the shoes before packing.

The white series.

The printed series.  All cardstock I sued are by Tilda.

 The Process:

1.  Trace, cut and assemble the pattern.  You may print out your desired size by of course twitching the enlarge button of your printer to print out a pattern.

2.  I opted to emboss the outer sole of each white baby shoe to add texture before assembling the shoe.

3.  Cut HK heads then assemble each one.

4.  Added stickles on every nose =)

5.  Punched flowers.

6.  Used pearl maker (black) for the center of each flower.

7.  Now once you have fully embellished each shoe to your liking, don't forget to add an inner sole for every shoe so it will look clean and flawless.

Laser Game Party Invites and Giveaways

A very unusual thing happened to me.  My son didn't have a party during his birthday last October simply because the Laser Game is fully booked and the next available date is 1st week of December but then we will be out of the country by that time to celebrate hubby's birthday for a week.  And so we booked it for 2nd week instead, which was last Sunday.

When we arrived from Gran Canaria, I was totally exhausted then come Monday, the 10th, I suddenly remembered that I haven't done the party invitations yet!!!!  How can I forget that, right?  I have barely a week!!!!

The whole morning of Tuesday, the next day, I created something fast (20 pieces) plus stamped images on every envie then the same day before getting my son from school I mailed all the invitations.  The next day I created the packaging of give-a-ways, too, and bought all the goodies for the give-a-ways!  Yeah, I made spaghetti for the kids ... ordered a cake since I can no longer make my own .... and the special request of my son :  homemade ice cream =)  Whew!

The party was a success!

Homemade Juggle Balls (Tutorial)

Looking for something that kids can play with during autumn and winter?

Figuring out what to include in goodie bags for kiddie birthday give-a-ways?

Well, read on and maybe you will like what I created a year ago for my nephew's baptism celebration.  It was part of the give-a-ways I made for his guests during the said event.  It was my second time to make juggle balls because the first time was during my son's 7th birthday and both events the juggle balls were a BIG hit for the kids!

It's very easy, I promise =)  I assure you kids will enjoy squeezing and throwing then catching these balls.

Let's discuss the materials you'll be needing for this project:

balloons - preferably the thick ones and medium size
5th class rice or small beans or porridge rice like what I have used
small plastics
transparent tape
scissors
measuring cup

Please be informed that the porridge rice I used is long been expired!

PROCEDURE:

Add 3/4 cup of rice or beans in a plastic.  Twist the plastic to secure fillings then cut plastic at least leaving 2 inches from the twist.

After twisting and cutting the plastic, fold the flap and secure with transparent tape =)  It will not form a ball shape ... yet ... just so you know.

Once you have secured all the plastics, then get the balloons and cut!  Cut each ballon as shown in the picture.  I can't give you the exact size because some balloons have long necks.

Now you're ready to insert all the plastics filled with fillings inside each balloon =)

As you can see we need to cover more the filled balloon.  So get another cut balloon and insert it one more time.  It's best to use different colors of balloons coz it makes the children smile or better yet if you have printed balloons so much the cuter!

All you have to do now is just add a juggle ball or 2 in every goodie bag for give-a-way =)

If ever you tried my tutorial for this day, please let me know and I would love to see it.

Thanks for dropping by!

Happy crafting =)

Upcycle Crayons (How To)

It was school break last week and my son and I decided to do something about his crayons.  He doesn't like crayons coz he prefers pentel pens especially my ProMarkers hahahahahahahahahhaha.  He is forbidden to use any of my CIAO markers and I no longer allow him to use my ProMarkers, too.  Why?  he keeps on forgetting to put back the cap that's why!  I bought him set of pentel pens but now he started to like using aquarel pens because that's what they have in school.

For this project it's really cool to have a kid with you to help coz it's nice to hear ooohhhsss and aaahhhsss from time to time plus those little hands will come handy.

Let's go to the procedure and hoping you'll learn from it =)

1.  Gather all the crayons ... remove labels ... segregate each color.

2.  Chop each crayon and segregate again =)

3.  Choose a mold.  In our case at the end we decided to use single tins but let me show you our first choices.  Once you have chosen put chopped crayons on the mold preferably in different colors.  Let your kid(s) do this part so their hands will be busy =)

4.  You have 2 choices in melting the crayons:  Either you bake in the oven or use a deep pan and boil water then add the crayons.  Now, don't forget that the chopped crayons must be in a heat tolerant container when doing this option.

In my opinion, I prefer the baking option coz it's super easy ...not time consuming plus kids would love to see the melting part.

5.  Once baked, let it cool before removing it from the tins.  let your kids do this part, too =)

6.  Once it's cool and out, you may start packing =)

Now it's ready to be given away =)

Thanks for viewing =)

Witches Broomstick (My Version)

Last year I saw Martha Stewart's witch broomstick and I had to bookmark it coz I so love it and hoping that one day I'll get to make few.  Lo and behold!  I did it!!!!  First check out MS broomstick here.

Now here is my version:

As expected both kids and parents fell in love with these broomsticks to the point that they don't want to open it regardless if there are candies and toys inside (lol).  Too bad I was not able to take pictures of the kids with their broomsticks :(  Well, I only have 2 hands and 1 body ... can't be at all places at the same time.

A Simple Gift in a Mini Matchbox Case

From the very start we really planned to invite all the kids and the parents from my son's class for his 8th Birthday party.  We firmly decided to include the parents when we finally got a confirmation that a magician will come and perform tricks for 1 hour.  We didn't care how much it will cost as long as a magician will come.  In the invitations we sent out we already notified the invitees that a magician is our special guest.  I really want my son's birthday to be extra special coz next year there will be no kiddie party for him anymore ... the next party would be when he is 13 but only if he likes which I doubt coz by that time he prefers to go out with friends.  I can treat my son and his close classmates to a movie down the city and eat at a restaurant next year instead.

When 16 parents confirmed that they will attend the party, I was so happy.  They asked if they need to come in costumes, too, but I firmly told them that I don't force anyone so just come as you like.  Giving a small gift to each parent who will attend came at a very last minute.  Two days before my son's party, I requested my hubby to bring some cart coins - you know the one used when using carts at the grocery.  I started making packages for each coin cart I have and it turn out cute I should say plus the parents couldn't believe that they, too, have gifts hahahahahahahahahaahahahhahahaha.

Materials Used:

Panduro thick cardstocks - Apple Green and Violet
Slojd-Detaljer rubber stamp "Tack" - which means Thanks
EK Success Edge Punch
CTMH Ink Pad
Stampin Up Scallop punch

Here's what's inside of every mini matchbox case:

Thanks for looking =)

Halloween Treat Bags

Last minute project!!!!

About 8pm in the evening on the night before my son's Halloween Birthday party, a mom called and she's very very sorry for not informing me that her daughter would love to come to the party.  I set a deadline and it was written on the invitations we sent out.  I always make extra give-a-ways .... about 3,  just in case someone shows up without enlisting but in this case all extras have been properly labeled.  So what do you expect - of course I said yes to her then after putting down the phone I was in total panic.  I had to go out and take for a short walk that night just to think on what to do.

With an idea in my mind I discussed the situation with my hubby.  So here's the plan:  there will be 2 toddlers coming over and I have to make 2 special give-a-ways for them instead just so I have 1 more extra kiddie give-a-way and the other extra will be given to the little girl, a classmate of my son.  All is settled =)

Here's the 2 give-aways I made for 2 little boys/toddler =)

Aside from toys and candies inside the treat bags, I also included 2 teddy bears.  The treat bags were made using Mini Monsters Cricut Cartridge.

A Star Is Born (Smiley)

It's past 10pm here and I have all the time to create things until tomorrow evening.  I was cleaning one of my boxes here and found some very cute magnets - smiley faces and so I decided to make a simple packaging as part of my clients baptismal give-a-way.  Luckily I have more than 30 but she only needs 30 pieces so I made a matchbox case which is so easy that my son even did all the folding and stapling.  He didn't like punching circles so I did it instead.

The stamp sentiment "A Star is Born" is by Stampin Up (Hostess Pcture This)

Joseph's Birthday (Pokemon) Give-a-way

A mother will do everything for her child and over and over and over again I was in said situation.  Regardless if I feel unhealthy I was determined that the planned give-a-ways will be done and over with.  Right after work last Thursday and Friday, I went straight to my small craft room and started doing the main give-a-way for all the kids.

They are all crazy when it comes to Pokemon that the school declared that it is forbidden to bring any toys unless it's a ball or a jumping rope.  That was a good declaration coz I really don't like Joseph bringing all his pokemon cards plus a pokemon binder in school.

I was torn betwween buying Pokemon cards or I will just make my own.  The price of cards are just too much that I ended up creating Pokemon coloring pages for each kid.  I requested Joseph to choose from Pokemon coloring pages found at internet for free and printed the images.  Since Joseph will turn 7, each kid will receive 7 pages of Pokemon images that they can color.

I almost gave up on this project coz not feeling well combined with time pressure but it dawned on me that my son is expecting lots of give-a-ways for his party.  before going to school ... on our way home .... and at home ... after dinner ... before going to bed, he would ask me if I'm done with the project.

Anyway, both parents and kids were astonished to have such a wonderful gift from us.

A closer look on this project:

Embossed the crayola case using the asian bundle.
The handmade crayola case using Tags, Bags, Boxes and More Cricut Cartridge can hold 7 pieces of caryons.

Yes, I created the case smaller than the length of the crayons because the colors from the crayons will add gladness in the whole package.

The case that holds the coloring pages are cut using Tags, bags, Boxes and More Cricut Cartridge.  Embellished with Argyle Edge Punch by EK Success, RikRak band, stickles, and the handle was punched using SU Puncher.  The crayola case was highlighted with Broken China distress ink pad.  The last was adding the printed Pokemon picture =)  To personalize each pack, I wrote the names of each kid.

Here are the images of the 7 sheets Pokemon coloring pages.
