Last Minute Thank You Card

I have been sick for one whole week last week and so I missed a lot of crafting and things I'am responsible for at work.  I went back to work yesterday and tried to finish all my tasks and now I feel sick again ... stuffy nose :(  Although I was sick last week, I managed to attend one of our staff's farewell party.  She is  65 and so she opted to retire from work - Oh lucky her!  Hubby and I also wanted to retire from work but we of course know it's not the right time .. yet!

She has been with us from the very beginning we opened our first store in the city and then came the 2nd store.  She was like a mother to all of us - she can be strict to anyone that includes us her employers hahahahahahahahahahhahahaha but we appreciate everything she has done for opur companies and I really admire her being organized =)

Her farewell party held at her home was a memorable one because she invited some of our previous staffs so it was kind'a reunion for everyone.  The food was ssssssssoooooooo delicious and the drinks were overflowing!

As a token of our appreciation, her colleagues gave her open tickets in theater since she loves theater shows.  As for us we gave her a set of silver jewelry with lots of diamonds.  Yeah, we included insurance for safety purposes.  Ok, here came my problem:  Hubby asked me to make a thank you card at the last minute!  Duh!  I'm still recuperating!!!!  The fastest and simplest thing I can make is by using punchers so here it is .... a very simple card indeed and thanks to my left-over "Thank You" sentiment which I cut using cricut a long time ago using New Arrival Cricut cartridge =)  As for the punchers I used Martha Stewart Daisy Fan as well as Doily Lace Trim.

 

Thank You Butterfly Cards

I admit I opted to be out of the craft world circulation and even getting in touch with friends and relatives.  Months before and fter our trip in Dubai I started helping my DMIL and DFIL pack all their things as in ALL items in the house since they will be moving to a smaller apartment for elderly.  DFIl has been really sick for a year ... in and out from the hospital for series of check-ups.  Then less than a month that they have moved to the other apartment DFIL passed away.  It was a big blow to all of us but I can personally say I was totally affected.

The death was so painful but deep in my mind I know he is in a better place and he has finally met both my parents.  For weeks I can smell him especially when I'm creating something or watching TV in the afternoon.  There was no burial since he opted to be cremated ... we just had a very simple last respect gathering before he was cremated on that one fine sunny day last May.

A week after he was cremated, DMIL asked me to buy Thank You cards so she can send it to all their friends who supported her during the family crisis.  I, on the other hand still grieving refused to buy cards because I want to make the cards instead as my very last respect to my kind-hearted DFIL.  It was a complete shick for my DMIL when I delivered all the cards since she really had no idea that I will be able to make cards while I'm grieving ... crying almost everyday.

I truly appreciate the Paper Lace Cricut Cartridge. Just like any cartridge it is full of possibilities. I love the curves but in some cases the intricacies just drive me nuts hahahahahahahahahaha especially when adhering. The cuts can be used as a stand alone and that's why I just made these cuts as it is. I can easily reach for one and write something at the back part.

Baptismal Thank You Cards

Yipee!  This project is done for a client =)

I simply used the New Arrival Cricut Cartridge, doilies, 3D eyes, dollar store stamp bought in the US, Scallop punch.  Added a bow and lace I bought in Thailand on each card .... colored the cheeks with craft chalk and highlighted the lips using Copic Markers.

Thank you (Halloween Cards)

At last the Thank You cards for my son's birthday party are all done.  But maybe will add few things inside when I feel like doing it.  Kids in his class are very excited for his party because it will be an amazing experience for them to watch a magician exclusively for them.  I'm hoping that everything will go as planned.

There are so many things I have yet to create for the party but I take things one day at a time.  There are days I have to re-conceptualize a lot of things and there are days that I'm just working like a machine in my craft room.  Oh well, invitations were out since Friday last week and now the thank you cards are done ....banners ... give-a-ways .... decorations are just in the process .... my costume and the celebrants are all ready so I guess I'm right in schedule. Of course I still have to finalize the food we're gonna serve.

Cards of Thanks

There are so many reasons why I have to be thankful everyday ... we all are, right? Although I'm in a bad shape right now ... it got worse on the night of Joseph's birthday party. But like all performers say "the show must go on". I don't have a voice literally yesterday and so I had to settle for sign languages which made my boys laugh so hard. Today, I feel better but still got chills and weak body but happy to say they can hear my whispers now hehehehehehehehehehehehehe. I didn't go to work as advised by hubby and so I had a great reason to stay in my craft room even for few hours and make cards.

Joan has been giving away cuties every week in celebration of cardmaking day. I vowed myself and promised her that I will do my best to make cards for her blog candy. It's the last week and I want to join.

Hubby allowed me to work on my cards for the whole morning then I was nagged to go to bed and get some sleep heheheheheheheehehehehehehe. yup, I did sleep that's why it's only now I have the time to post my creations for the day. Oh, I didn't sleep that long ... I had to eat late lunch .... clean the kitchen a little .... take a shower .... take a short walk for fresh air .... prepare dinner ... load pictures of Joseph's give-a-ways .... eat dinner ... and now I'm here to share with you all what craft I did this day.

The theme of my cards for the day is simply THANKS =)

My heart is filled with gladness ... overflowing with gratefulness. What am I thankful for?

1. My son will be turning 7 this Oct. 28
2. His early birthday party was a huge success.

3. I'm the one who is sick and not my son nor hubby.
4. I've got 2 new toys: Pagoda and Rock Princess Cricut cartridges.
5. I have great, supportive, kind crafty friends around the world that inspires me over and over again.
6. I have loads of clothes to wash in the laundry this week hehehehehehehe.

Bouquet of Flowers (13 Cards)

As always it's a tiring Sunday ... a family day. I had to bring Joseph to his friend this morning just to play then little driving lessons with my DH then we ate lunch at home then we went and look for some storages that I need in my room. IKEA was full packed :( We had no patience to go and look coz we can hardly breathe. In my mind I wanted to go home instead and do my craft for the day. Anyway, at the last warehouse before heading home, we found a steel storage that'll be perfect for the cabinet I have in my room ... so we bought it coz it's the last piece hehehehehhehehehehehhe. I'm not sure yet when I can assemble the storage but hopefully tomorrow ... crossing my fingers hehehehehhehehehhehehe.


When we got home, I told everyone that I will be very busy coz I have to deliver the cards tomorrow. Luckily they all understood hahahahahahahahahaha and that includes my son :D While I was conceptualizing my cards, I was restless so I tried making a Sour Cream card using an ordinary transparency, as I have promised. It looks so plain so I used one of the foam stamps Joan gave me and my panduro foam stamp plus Staz-On stamp pad. Oh bhoy! It sure looks nice using transparency :D


Now as for the cards I made this 22nd day of National Craft Month is something cute and unique. I got a call early this morning from a kind lady and says she saw my works at www.scrapbookingwithjerosha.tk and was happy to know that I'm from Uppsala, Sweden. She ordered 12 Thank You cards. We talked a little so I can have an idea what she likes. It's just a thank you card for her group of friends who helped her in many ways and they all love flowers :D With her order, I decided to make it as my entry for the day :D I actually made 13 coz I really like keeping one copy for my portfolio :D

Shoe Case Card

6th day of National Craft Month

This day I was able to finish the Shoe Case Card - 16 pcs, for my nephew's baptism come April. It's my very first time to make my very own template and I'm proud of myself hahahahahahaha :D Each shoe case will serve as a pocket for the mice( 16 pcs) my dear friend Maryann Laursen of Denmark made especially for my nephew :D

From the very start, i decided to use shade of green and yellow since at the time I was conceptualizing the case, the baby hasn't been born yet. Green and yellow are neutral colors so I played around with those colors in my mind. I told my friend Maryann to use same colors, too. Oh well, my nephew was born Feb 27 and it's a boy!!!!! I'm a proud Aunt and it's my very first nephew. I'm always an aunt to relatives but this time I'm a real Aunt to my only sibling's baby :D

Woot! Woot!

Now, going back to the card, I so love the card(s). I had no idea how it will look like at the end. The only isnpiration I have is the pair of baby shoes my DH had when he was a baby :D
