Burlap Christmas Cutlery Holder

Just two days before Christmas I went to a Flea Market and there I bought vintage silver-gold cutlery which was perfect for our planned Christmas Äretun gathering.  I got vintage silverware from my DMIL.  It was hers given during their wedding day and the whole set was super elegant - white with gold sidings and gold small flowers on the side.  Anyway, when I got home I hurriedly looked for my green burlap and started sewing cutlery holders.  I accentuated each holder with poinsettia which I patiently removed one by one from an old wreath.  Aside from the vintage cutlery I bought at the flea market, I bought different colors of band with tassel effect but for this particular project I used the white one.   I'm not really good in sewing but what the heck! I love how it turned out given that it was a last minute project.

 Here's the process:

Adhere the plastic poinsettia flowers using a glue gun =)

Making Charms for A Special Project

Ah, finally I have time this day to document what I have done this day =)  It sure is a nice feeling to be in your craft zone and let time fly knowing that at the end of the day you were able to accomplish something.

This afternoon while my son and his 2 bestfriends were busy playing outside, watching  a movie, eating snacks, and simply checking funny stuffs at you tube, I went on to my plan of making charms for my art journal entry at Journal 52.

Yes, every cardstock adhered on every pendant was hand-cut coz I don't have the exact size and shape of punchers  =(

 I used Barrel Swivel with Interlock Snap to hang each charm on my project.  I find it so cool and unique =)

I'm happy and fulfilled as I end this day.  Hhhmm, I'd better do some organization later while the night is still young.

Metal Name Tag for Our Dog

Ha!  Finally I found the tools this morning that I need in order to make a nameplate for our dog Kasper.  With so much things in my main craft room I accidentally found what I was looking for in ages.  Well, I guess this will be my last post for the day.  I have done my art journal for the day, the metal name plate, then I was able to organize my DMC/Anchor threads, then  - I will be able to sleep with a smile tonight knowing that I spent time in my craft room, connecting with friends and relatives at Facebook, and of course updating my craft site.  Tomorrow I plan to post projects I made last December 2013.  Due to topsy-turvy daily schedule I literally had no time in FB and my craft site.

Anyway, here's the metal name tag for our baby Kasper.  For security reasons I kind'a digitally erased the phone number.

LOOPDEEDOO Bracelet Machine

During my window shopping last September 2013, I saw in a craft store a Loodeedoo bracelet machine and it was the last one.  I grab it without knowing how it works and paid for it.  I have no time in making bracelets and I notice that friendship bracelet is beginning to be popular at my son's school.  I tried to browse the internet and here's what I found out from Anne Williams .. it says

What it says is true!  In minutes one will be able to make bracelets =)  Oh yeah, I did made a lot  in one sitting less than an hour for my son and his close friends plus my step-daughter, too.

His and Hers Masquerade Masks

A last minute project I made yesterday for a client.  We met last Wednesday after lunch and she mentioned that she has a big problem.  Naturally I asked what it is and she told me that this Saturday, which is tomorrow, she with her husband will be attending a masquerade party and it requires masks of course.  She had no idea where to buy masks and she has a feeling that it cost a lot.  I, being a crafty person told her I will make for her instead and that we have to buy the basic materials for the masks immediately.  Off we went to Panduro and luckily base masks are available.  After discussing the main color of her masks, we bought some embellishments that I know I will be needing and that I don't have any in-stock.  Other added materials I told her I have a lot at home.

Yesterday, although I'm in so much pain and feel weak due to my monthly thing-y I devoted my time in finishing the project because I promised her that the masks will be ready for pick-up this day, Friday.  I'm so happy how both masks turned out.

Materials I used aside from the base masks are the following:

Gold paint (Allmoge) - I used this kind of paint because it's thick in consistency, applied twice

Stickles (Crystal) - which was painted after the gold paint has dried

Pearl Maker (black) - filled in the gold flower band

Gold Rose - from an old plastic bouquet

Black Fabric Flower

Peacock Feathers

Jewelry Ornament - dabbed with black Staz-On stamp pad

Multi-colored Beads

Flower Sticker beads

Black square beads with crystals

E6000 to adhere all embellishments securely

Hhhhhmmm I believe I will be making few more for personal happiness hahahahahha =)

Thanksgiving Wine Glass Markers

Sweden does not celebrate Thanksgiving Day but with Glory Days digital kit by Tempusfigit, I was inspired to create wine glass markers useful for a family Thanksgiving gathering. Each wine glass is adorned with symbolic charm that is significant to what we all should be thankful for. 

 

Supplies Needed:

Digital Kit Glory Days by Tempusfugit

Shrink Film

Marvy Brush Marker – black

Just Rite Stamps

Memento Dye Ink Pad – tuxedo black

Tim Holtz Distress Ink Pads – Spiced Marmalade, Frayed Burlap, Tattered Rose

EK Success Scalloped Scallop Edge Punch

Color Box Pigment Ink – bronze

Royal Coat Dimensional Magic

Cardstock (left-over)

Rings

Charms (assorted)

Instructions:

1. Open your editing software and choose the elements from the kit that you want to use and print on a sheet of shrink film, let dry.
2. Cut each element not forgetting to punch holes on each.
3. Set the oven according to the shrink film’s instruction as stated on the package.
4. Let cool after “baking”.
5. Stamp sentiments on distressed paper and cut according to the size of your preference.
6. Punch the cardstock, adhere the sentiments, and cut.
7. Apply dimensional magic on each sentiment and let dry at least 3 hours.
8. Assemble the wine rings.

Tea Light Holders (Upcycle) with Tutorial

*Tis the season to be sick :(  My son and I are both sick since yesterday morning ... fever!  We managed to let the day pass as normal as possible so we will not feel very very sick.  Although once in awhile we both get the worst headache for few seconds we still laughed, ate, watched films, and most of all do crafting.  He wanted to help me but I'm worried about him hurting himself along the way so he decided to play with his military games instead.

About my latest project, I, once again recycle/upcycle something from the trash bin hehehehehehehe.  We normally put all empty beer cans on a special trash bin outside so that we can return it every end of the month and get money in return.  I have to haggle with my son coz the money we get from returning the empty beer cans is something he claims his.  Each empty beer can we get 50 öre and at the end of the month we usually get about 75kr.  Oh you might think we drink a lot of beer here at home so let me clarify.  It's not only empty beer cans that we return but also empty water or soda cans/bottles.  Big empty soda7water bottles we get ranging from 1kr to 4kr =)  Yeah, we drink a lot of soda water here especially the strawberry flavored ones =)

Materials Used:

Empty Beer Cans
Knife and scissors
Alcohol Inks - Adirondack:  Lettuce and Eggplant
Cuttlebug Embossing Folders - Asian Bundle:  Oriental Weave (top layer) and Plum Blossons (Middle layer) and Swiss Dots EF for the bottom layer
Crop-a-dile
Brads - nothing fancy just the ones from office supply in any bookstore
Sizzix In Bloom Die - Flower #4:  top and bottom flowers
Sizzix Tim Holtz Alterations Die - Tattered Flowers - middle flowers

Procedure:

1.  Gather all the empty beer cans that you want to use.

2.  Remove the top and bottom parts of the empty beer cans.  

It's easy to strike the knife then cut using a scissor.

3.  Wash and let dry but if you are in a hurry pat dry with a dish towel.

4.  Die cut the beer cans and emboss.

5.  Ink the edges using alcohol inks.

and punch holes at the center of each flower.

6.  Assemble each flower.

There you have it!  Very nice to use and pretty to look at especially now that winter is just around the corner.

Felt Wine Glass Markers

Red day in Sweden meaning no work for everyone - a holiday!  Yeah it's holiday here but nothing new to us ... it's a usual Saturday for me and my son except for hubby who had a grand time with his motorcycle this morning till early afternoon while we're having our usual bonding day with Joseph grandparents.  I have cleaned my main craft room and will find time cleaning, sorting, and organizing my basement craft room anytime next week.

My muse in paper crafting is still gone for vacation and I hope it's a short one hehehehehehehehe.  My mind is so filled with ideas but can't execute much but I did something simple and it's great for the coming holidays.

Planning for a big party this Christmas?  Then better prepare wine markers as early as now.  Her's what I did .... ah although I have no plans of big party next month, i just want to have markers just in case I change my mind =)
