Shoe Case with Heels

How's your week-end?  Mine is just fine ..... no stress since I will just go to the grocery tomorrow with hubby.  My parents-in-law are both sick so the usual Saturday we have with them is cancelled for the meantime until they're both healthy.  I, for one, feels that soon I will be sick but hoping of all hopes that I did not get the virus when I brought my DFIL in an ambulance last Monday due to influenza.  I was informed by the doctor that I have to observe myself within 14 days and if I'm lucky well and good, right?

The sun is shining really bright here and we are embracing every moment of the day for the past week.  If you read my entry yesterday then you have seen the budding flowers in our front garden.  I decided not to take a new picture yet coz I'm waiting to see it in full bloom.  Hhhhmmm maybe tomorrow...we'll see.

For my project this day which I was able to make early this morning (thanks to my son who woke me up at 7 this morning)  is a case for the necklace I made yesterday.  I finally decided to use my latest acquired cartridge Princess Party =)  When I saw this cart I fell in love with the 3D shoe.  I don't have a daughter but being a shoe lover I knew I have to have the cart!

I made a cut at 7 1/2 inches and assembled the shoe.  Since I was half awake and half asleep I had no idea how to embellish the shoe.  I didn't want to go overboard coz I want to maintain the elegance and simplicity of the shoe playing on my mind.  In my mind I want to incorporate stamping so I checked my Greeting Farm stamps and took Camille then I took the courage in using my PrismaColor pencils.  I have the big set for about 3 years now and embarrassing  to say it's actually my first time to use it.  I was apprehensive to use it but there's always a first time.  I believe I will use it more for now instead of my Copics - my coloring is kind'a rusty now, that's why.  Overall I'm happy the way it turned out but as I've said I will practice more coz it could have been better.

Now for the shoe itself, I embellished it with flower then attached a brad.  From there, I added crystals and wrapped around a lace.  The heel part is the coolest coz that's where I attached the stamped image (as shown above) and added few crystal beads.  Oh it didn't end there coz something is missing from the shoe itself...I felt that it was naked so thanks to Ellen Hutson who once shared a pattern for shoe lining in one of the shoes she created.

Once again I would like to stress that the shoe lining is not included in Princess Party Cricut Cartridge.  Here's the final look of my shoe case which I will be giving tonight to the birthday celebrant.  Oh my I'm singe tonight coz hubby and Joseph has to stay home.  Hubby has to take care of Joseph since there will be no kids at the party.

The tag was made by using Just Rite stamp : From My Kitchen Set then punched scallop using Stampin' Up then layered with another punched scallop.

That's it for the day!  I think I will take a long bath with candles around and drink again my blueberry juice.  Ooopsss!  I guess I'm dreaming - I still have lots of things to do here outside my main craft room.  Hhhhmmmm, maybe will take a date at the laundry area instead hahahahhahahahaha.

Mickey Mouse Birthday Name Tags

Project : Name tags for all the kids attending.

One of the essentials in holding a kiddie birthday party is to provide name tags for all the kids. It somehow make it easier to know and call everyone heheheeheehe.

Once again I used my Mickey Font Cartridge to cut the ticket shape as base. Then cut and emboss the heads using Sizzix Die and Emboss folder of Mickey Mouse. Distressing the edges made a big difference on how the name tags will look like. I stamped the word ADMIT One using Just Rite Brayton Font then the ordinary date stamper being used in offices. Before embossing the die cuts, I swiped a white ink pad by CTMH. Added red, yellow, and black ribbons at the last part instead of blank brooches. Got worried that kids will get hurt by pins.

Since I don't know the names of the kids that will be attending, I will provide for an acid-free pen so that my DSIL can just write the names of the kids. But of course Ryan, my nephew is all set and ready to be worn. I just used acid free alphabet sticker to put his name.

Recycling Old Christmas Tablecloth

I bet you guys don't have any idea how addicted I am when it comes to fabrics. Yeah, I'm not into sewing like you guys do but I know how to sew simple curtains and tablecloths. When I go out for shopping either craft goodies or shoes, clothes, bags, jewelries, decors, and kiddie items, I would buy fabrics whenever I see that attracts my attention. I also have a habit .... bad habit maybe ... that after using the fabrics specifically as curtains or tablecloths I just DON'T WANT to use it again. Bad of me, huh?

To be honest, I tried many times to use it again whatever fabric that I have but it just gives me the unhappy feeling so I end up buying new ones to bring back the smile on my face.

What do I do with "I don't want it the second time around fabrics?" Well, as I've said I give it away ..... or just hidden in the basement. BUT, things change and now I started recycling them.

To start with, I played with my christmas tablecloth I used once 4 Christmases ago hehehhehehehehehhehe. It's a waterproof fabric and the designs are so joyful that I decided to turn it into a wall decor for this jolly season.

 

 

Diaper Cards (Baptism Invitations)

8th day of the National Craft Month :D

Once again - Yipppppppppeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!

This is my second very OWN template and it's a diaper. I have searched few times for a diaper card template but I saw 2 templates : One is you cut a triangle paper then fold both sides then the middle side. Second, I saw one that is really lovely but guess what? You have to buy it for 34dollars and it includes all the templates inside and out. Duh????? I will not spend on something like that, are you? No, no, no, no :D

I showed my husband the triangular template diaper and made a sample but he laughed coz it doesn't look like a diaper. For mini sizes, Yes, it's cute :D But I wanted a big diaper card hehehehehehehehehehe.

So, I took my son's first diaper (yes my dear ladies, I kept one as a souvenir - of course unused hahahahahahahahahahaha). Stared at it for many hours and finally, I did some sketching and made a sample and showed my husband. Oooooooooooooohhhhhh he likes it and says it sure does look like a diaper :D

I made 16pcs and of course it will be send to England for my nephew's baptism together with the shoe case cards and mice :D

I wonder what will be the next template I'm gonna make?

I will not think about it for now because I'm sssssssssssssoooooooooooooo tired and exhausted. I had to be a mom and a wife the whole day but i did manage to finish all 16 diaper cards :D Whew!

Shoe Case Card

6th day of National Craft Month

This day I was able to finish the Shoe Case Card - 16 pcs, for my nephew's baptism come April. It's my very first time to make my very own template and I'm proud of myself hahahahahahaha :D Each shoe case will serve as a pocket for the mice( 16 pcs) my dear friend Maryann Laursen of Denmark made especially for my nephew :D

From the very start, i decided to use shade of green and yellow since at the time I was conceptualizing the case, the baby hasn't been born yet. Green and yellow are neutral colors so I played around with those colors in my mind. I told my friend Maryann to use same colors, too. Oh well, my nephew was born Feb 27 and it's a boy!!!!! I'm a proud Aunt and it's my very first nephew. I'm always an aunt to relatives but this time I'm a real Aunt to my only sibling's baby :D

Woot! Woot!

Now, going back to the card, I so love the card(s). I had no idea how it will look like at the end. The only isnpiration I have is the pair of baby shoes my DH had when he was a baby :D

Home.made Studio Box + Just Rite Stamps

It's the 5th day of National Craft Month and for this day I created 16pcs of THANK YOU tags which will be used for the case I'm making. I played with my Justrite Stamps for the very first time. I used the scallop nestabilities ... added chalk around ... and used 3D foams :D

After I have finished all the 16 tags, I started creating my own studio box. I saw this tutorial somewhere last year and I decided to make one for myself so that everytime I want to take a picture of things I created, I will not deal with the dilemma of which area will be nice for picture taking. Most of the time I get so irritated coz the sun is so bright or so many unwanted lights around even if I shut doen all the blinds and lights inside the house.

So, after creating my studio box, I gave it a try and I'm happy with the result coz the colors of my item is more vibrant and clear as compared to my previous picture (left photo).

Bon Voyage Card

Ok now let's go to the card I made this morning for 2 hours. It was really kind'a rush because my son is here at home with me. He can't go to his english school primarily because he is sick but thank God not really sick as in sick. He was warm last night and got so worried :( Anyway, while he is busy watching his favorite kiddie shows, I took advantage of creating something.

Two of my dear friends are going on a trip and the funny thing is they're both going to Philippines. Oh, they don't know each other hahahahahahahaha. One is living here in Sweden, Wendy, and the other one is a crafty friend who is currently stationed in Korea, Claire, but will soon move back to US (i think!) after the P.I. trip this month.With 2 people who are very close to my heart going for a trip, I decided to create a Bon Voyage card. Unfortunately I will not be able to mail the card coz I only made one hahahahahahahahah. Besides, even if I mail it, it's too late coz they're leaving next week :(I will surely miss them both but with internet, keeping in-touch will not be that as hard not unless they don't log-in hahahahahahahahahahahaha.

It may not be as beautiful as the cards you guys have been making but I admit I'm a beginner when it comes to cardmaking especially stamping. It took me a few minutes to cut and emboss the spellbinders with my Big Shot. I got worried because I wasn't sure if I need something else like special pads to use the nestabilites with BS. Luckily I was able to figure it out, Whew!
