Failed UTEE Pendant Project :(

For short my first try with UTEE is a failure coz I find it super ugly :(

Last night when I put Joseph to sleep in his room  I fell asleep, too, and woke up about 1.45a.m.  I was torn between uploading my creations that made me dirty the other day as I have mentioned in my blog entitled "I'm So Dirty"

Oh well, I opted to play with my UTEE for the very first time with Joan as my inspiration.  I so love her UTEE projects eversince.  I watched her video tutorial but I still failed :( sniff, sniff)

Armed with different silicone moulds for ice making, I played with the simple shape first like the round mould then for the heart shape I used a cookie cutter.  I know for a fact that nothing goes to waste with UTEE coz it can be re-melted again and again until you're satisfied.

I will definitely keep on trying until I get to learn the secrets behind making beautiful UTEE projects.

Where I failed on this project?

Look closely and you will see that some edges especially the inner part are not fine and even the pierced part :(  I wonder if I have to use a sand paper to smoothen these parts?)

Once again I will try and try.
hhhmmm, will try again later after work =)

Ok gtg coz my work starts 11 am today =)

The Easiest Flower To Make : Lollipop Flowers

One of the most popular flowers to make is called lollipop flowers. When I saw a lot of these in almost all craft site or video tutorials, I promised myself I will make these flowers. I've seen paper crafters creating beautiful lollipop flowers as part of their layout and it looks so cute.

Although I know you are also aware of this kind of paper flower, I still decided to take pictures on every step of the process. I just created a few and no idea when and where to use these flowers but will just keep it for the time being.

Materials Needed:
Cardstocks - preferably left overs so you have reason to use those bits and pieces of cardstocks scattering in your craft room.

Distressing tool - any tool you use for distressing

Distress ink pads or plain ink pads

Piercing tool and Scissors

Brads or Buttons or rhinestones et al  For this project I used my own made brad which you may find the tutorial at http://scrapbookingwithjerosha.blogspot.com/2010/09/glittery-brads.html

Stickles or glitters if you like

Note:  Fabrics or tulle or organza may also be used in making this kind of flowers =)

Procedure:

Freehand cut circles with the size of 1, 1 1/2, 2, 2 1/2 inches. layers can be 5 or 6 but 4 is the minimum.  The size can also vary depending on how small or big you want it.
Of course if you have round diecuts like spellbinders or punchers or a cricut cartridge you may use BUT I still believe a not perfect round shape is the cutest for this kind of paper flower.

 Distress the edges .....

Crumple ......

Use ink pad to highlight the distressed edges .......

Layering and piercing .......

Secure the flower with a brad or a button or rhinestone, etc.  Then add stickles or glitters =)

Trial : Customizing My paper and Fabric Flowers

Sorry ladies but I'm just enjoying my home-made glimmer mist.  Obviously I'm in awe how successful it turned out to be that I 'm so eager to use it in many different ways.

Customizing my fabric and paper flowers was kind'a hard for me to push through with the idea coz I was worried that I will just waste time and money just in case I ruin the flowers.  Yeah, but what the heck!  In my mind if I ruined the flowers then I will just buy and try again or buy and never try again hahahahahahahahaha.

Luckily it turned out just fine and will customize more if the need arises.

Here are the Before and After flowers:

I.  These off-white paper flowers are from Kort & Godt Hobby AS and I bought it one scrapbook store here in Uppsala.  I just spritz some of my home-made glimmer mist and that's it.

II.  These flowers are from Panduro and it's made of fabric.  Although after spritzing my glimmer mist and let dry, the flowers already shimmers but I still dab stickles afterwards to give more glitz.

Just in case you want to make your own (home-made) glimmer mist, check out my tutorial at

Ok goodnight everyone!  This is my last hurrah for this beautiful Sunday and hopefully will be able to upload some things I make everyday.  I just have no time right now to create cards, stamping, digital or traditional scrapbooks, or albums or whatever coz I'm simply playing with the materials and tools I have.  Crossing my fingers that after this week regardless if I have work, I will be able to show you some real creations and not craft recipes or tutorials hahahahahahahahaha.

Thanks for joining me with my play since yesterday and leaving lots of love and kindness that truly made me feel that I'm still alive in this crazy world of crafting =)

Cardstock Scrunched Flowers

First and foremost I'm proud to tell you all that Joseph helped me make these flowers right after lunch this day hehehehehehehehehe.  He was actually wondering why I was punching scalloped circles many many many times plus all my left-over cardstocks were scattered on the floor.  Ah well he did asked for some left-overs which I don't mind giving it to him coz I'm tired looking at those prints already hehehehehehhhehehhehhehe.

The part were he diligently helped me was crumbling each scalloped circles while he was watching TV.  For small hands working very hard I knew all along that he will complain and yes he did ... but not really complain  - he was more on saying how difficult it is to crumple the cardstock.  I took a picture of him but he requested me  with pleading eyes not to post it coz he says he hasn't taken a bath yet (at that time).  Geez!  he's only 6 yrs old and he's conscious on how he looks hehehehehehehhehehehehe.  Hhhmmm, should I be worried as early as now? Huh!

Anyway, if you have read my tutorial on making scrunched flowers using craft tissue paper, then you are aware how easy and how manageable it is.  This time, I tried using left-over cardstocks in making scrunched flowers.

The look is not as fluffy as my tissue paper scrunched flowers but it does give another kind of effect.  For this project i just used scallop punch by Stampin' Up, brads, and stickles, plus of course stamp pads for edging.  Instead of 9 layers Ij ust used 4 layers of scalloped circles.  I think if I did use 9 for each flower, Joseph will definitely say NO in helping me hahahahahahahahahha.

I think I will not be making more of these cardstock scrunched flowers coz it's tiring for my hands hehehehehehhehe I'd settle for using craft tissue paper instead.

Here are the flowers ......

I'm So Dirty !!!!

Tomorrow is Monday again and that means back to work for me - not sure if I have the energy to craft at the end of the day.  Almost the whole day yesterday I was so productive in my craft zone since it's Saturday plus DH stayed in Stockholm with all our staff for a conference.  I was in "heaven" just spending time in my favorite room although I have to stand and walk a little or lie down from time to time due to scoliosis.  As far as I can remember I slept about 3am sorting things while creating something at the same time.

I really miss spending time in my craft zone but soon things will be the same as before.  I just have to work in our companies everyday coz DH badly needs help.  If before I 'm in-charge of minor administrative works and merchandise display, now, I have to be hands-on on everything.  learning to use all the equipment and talking to patients and clients are 2 things I'm not comfortable coz I don't like to speak Swedish bwahahahahahahahahahahahha.

Anyway, going back to my crafting .... I'm so tense right now coz I want to accomplish things before I call it a day.  I can't stay so late otherwise I will be like a walking zombie tomorrow hehehehehehehehehe.  I have been playing with my paints but I still can't show it coz it's still wet - drying process for short.  Hopefully, I will be able to upload few later or tomorrow after work.  My room is in a mess - paints are everywhere and brushes, too.  My craft apron is dirty but thats ok I'll wash it someday hehehehehehehehehehehehehe.

But before i end this blog, I want to show you a very simple card I made awhile ago.  It's really a very simple card but I just wanted to try using the tissue paper scrunched flower I made and of course the leaves I made using the paper crimper.

I just embossed a cardstock then swipe with ranger distress ink pad of the same shade then  distressed the sides.  I applied stickles on few parts of the embossed cardstock.  The base of the card I punched with Doily Lace by martha Stewart.   The highlight of the card are the scrunched flower and the leaves coz both elements were handmade by me which by the way you can find the tutorial here and here respectively.

Here's the card I was talking about =)

hhhhmmmm, i still have 1 1/2 hour before Joseph and I go to bed ... maybe I will play one more with something but I  believe I have to clean my mess here first heheehehehehehe.

Oh yes, I wear disposable gloves now when I craft coz it's hilarious when i go to work with hands/fingers filled with inks or paints, right? hahahahahahahahhahahaha
